My main character is a mage, and I have to say that I LOVE THIS COMIC! Especially the bit about having a pet warlock. And the alt text. XD Thank you so much for making my week. I haven’t had such a good laugh in a while.
Oh and if anyone is curious, those orbs are actually called Verdant Spheres, and the warcraft RPG game’s manual says: This powerful arcane artifact appears to be a sphere of green magical fire that hovers around the owner in much the same way an ioun stone orbits its owner’s head. Legend has it the orb siphons a portion of the essence of every evil outsider slain by its owner. The orb draws on the essence of these demons for its own powers, the spirits writhing in torment within it for all eternity. The reason it is most sought after by arcane casters, however, is its ability to enhance spells. All fire spells cast by the owner have their range widened, increasing the area of damage.
Best one yet for sure, Mages clearly need a NERF! and every patch note since 4.1 hit the PTR it’s BUFF after BUFF after BUFF…..? wtf Blizzard. Great Work guys a the Daily Blink. they Clearly get it.
Btw, those orbs Kael had, which wasn’t demonstrated in WoW, were used for spell casting in WC3:TFT. Blood mages would attack or cast a spell with them and an orb would dissapear for a moment.

iirc the orbs Kael’thas had were filled with magical power and enhanced his own powers. He used one of them to keep himself alive by placing it in his chest after you killed him as a raid boss.

@Zaoo: lol good 1! && im sure it would be semi-random, because we are balanced with other mages. It will probably choose from the best warlocks online at the moments, as the sucky ones would need to continue leveling, for future mage use.

Yes, they are Verdant Spheres. But it’s much funnier to call them what I hear the majority of players (and Mike) call them.

Those “cool orb things” are called Verdant Orbs, they’re supposed to take some of the power from your defeated enemies.
