It should be required that dps roll a tank first before they’re allowed to play a dps toon, would really improve things. Most dps haven’t a clue how threat works, because if they did they wouldn’t be dpsing the crap out of order lasix canada wtf ever they felt like 1 nano-second after a pull. I swear I go to pull a boss and some arcane mage is powering up their AP’d arcane blast before I’m even in taunt range, screaming “RELEASE THE KRAKEN!” at the top of their lungs.

And when they do pull threat (oh and they will), their solution is to.. dps it harder while they run away from the tank. I just don’t get it.

There’s more to it than topping dps meters, believe it or not. Your 15k dps doesn’t mean jack if you’re only alive for 3 seconds.

Tank rule one: You pull you tank.
Tank rule two: Blame the healer
Tank rule three: If you can’t blame the healer blame the DPS
Tank rule four: Blame the lag
Unwritten Tank rule: It’s never your fault

    :P

    There sorted!

I have to say that I was one of the dodge rogues during TBC, and I got a very good feel for how sensitive threat can be. Then I rolled a Blood Tank during Wrath back even before they received a number of their key AoE buffs. Made me really appreciate the prescription viagra in us threat management tools at a rogue’s disposal. Trix to maintain a low overall threat generation, vanish to dump it altogether (I prefer popping my vanish approximately 35 seconds into a boss encounter, which is typically about 10-20 seconds after I got the last of my buff/debuffs on the boss depending on build in use). In the event that your threat is nearing critical while vanish is on cooldown, I learned back in Classic that a threat option ALL players have at their disposal is to simply turn off auto-attack and stop casting spells/abilities. 10-20 seconds of off DPS is simply vastly superior to becoming dead DPS with a raid boss pinballing through your raid because the tank fell behind in threat during the short time the boss’s attention was turned on you.

    “Know” doesn’t rhyme with “harder”.

I’ve been tanking for raids and can honestly say tanking ISN’T hard. It really isn’t. Maybe Warrior is just really easy but… it takes only slightly more effort than DPS. As long as I have a clear head, its no trouble at all.

Tanking can be as hard as the retards in your group make it for you. Embrace arandaphobia.

So, you know–I am a tank, and was a tank before I leveled my mage (and enhancement shaman and arms warrior). My first DPS toon was a hunter, and I got a really sophisticated feel for my threat–I’ve run Omen since TBC, leave my threat warnings on and cheap cialis generic visa everything.

And, honestly? I am the buy lexapro in england Bad DPS on my mage, shaman, arms warrior. I expect to die. It’s not that I need DPS OVER 9000, it’s BUTTONS BUTTONS ALL THESE BUTTONS HOLY SHIT PROCS EVERYWHERE WHAT DO YOU MEAN I HAVE JUGGERNAUT IS BLADESTORM READY AGAIN I CAN CHARGE IN COMBAT WEEEE SO EXCITED.

I’m a lot more tolerant of canada pharmacy viagra it when I’m tanking, too. If the DPS aren’t rushing me on pulls when I’m not ready or the healer’s not ready, I can totally understand the fire mage running ahead to expend a Hot Streak proc or the arms warrior charging the CC because that’s fun or the hunter pulling the next group because of that STUPID FRIGGING AUTOTARGET BUG or whatever.

It’s really not the numbers, honest. It’s just the fun of it.

Okay, I see we have some pro tanks here. Let the viagra drug noob say a word. If you cant hold aggro off 11k single target – leave party. If you cant hold 20k aoe dps – leave party. If you cant get accidental threat – leave party. If you pull slow – leave party. If unCCd packs kill you – leave party.
Now to those who prefer dpsing before tanking. If your dps pulls less than 9k single target – leave party. If your dps pulls less than 15k aoe – leave party. If your dps doesnt know how to interrupt\stun\burst – leave party.
To healers: if your single target HPS is below 3k – leave party. If your aoe HPS is below 7k – leave party. If your tank dies – blame everyone.
Now even more clear: the job of the tank is to SURVIVE. Anything. The job of the dps is to kill shit. Hard. Fast. Properly. And the job of the healer is – to heal shit as long as it’s healable.
To elaborate: The tank normally is able to survive anything. Additional threat is resolved by additional dps or additional hps or cooldowns from all\at least one role. If your healer runs out of mana – it’s either he spams Flash-Heal-type-Spell(L2P case) or people do it wrong.

I just have to lol at all the guys venting their little “opinions” about the minutae of wow combat mechanics. Since much of youre perception of what is “hard” or not is based on youre personal aptitudes and therefore varies from person to person. And also depends on how much consideration you get from the people you usually play with. So quit it with waving the epeen around no one is fooled and no one is impressed.

    HA loves it!!!!

I SMASH ALL AND KILL THERE FACE – WHY YOU TARGET TRASH???KILL THE GODS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    TRANSLATION;
As hard working warrior, and angry Orc, I appreciate teh complexities involved in choosing CC targets with regard to Mage and Lock abilities.Rogues for teh most part have a fairly simple list of cialis 20mg brand priorities, but still a good rogue can make an absolutly huge difference for us tanks.Nice to see – keep tanking!!!

..There’s only one thing left to say–
    I shouldv’e rolled a Hunter!

  15. Chambertin

My wife and I run a tank healer combo as we pug instances. DPS learns really quick to follow our lead on targets and pulling. Usually takes rogues 3 or 4 deaths more to fall in line though.
