    Praise be!

  2. Auramis

This one’s AMAZING! xD Should have mentioned how holy spell users reacted in here, imo.

  3. Sinkuu

    win, sir… pure win.

  4. Kitsunami

I will prolly use the word “winfamy” like 10 times today.

  5. Harkar

Should have put on the end, “Wait, this is for a future patch. Sorry about that.” Would have been funny I think. >:)

  6. Mamzelle_Kat

    I counted 25 ‘and’. 😛

    Great one nonetheless!

  7. haggi

  8. fira

was expecting something about the erm..corporate trimmings

probably too soon. this will do

  9. AkiyaWarrior

*THIS* is the greatest day ever.

  10. EnchanterAnonymous

Your cover for, as a mage, rejoicing that you no longer need worry about spell penetration (and thereby becoming even more ridiculously OP in PvP) is unconvincing. =P

  11. JesRaven

WIN-famy indeed! This is the best strip I’ve seen in a long time. :)

  12. Christopher

Oh dear lord this is the greatest thing since, ever. Really. Truly.

You ever taken a hard look at how sentences are structured in the Old Testament? There wasn’t much thought put into redundancy when they did some of the translations. :)

  14. Alayea

And there were those unfamiliar with Old English-style text; I proffer thee a translation, with hope of increasing thine understanding:

    And Lo,

The heavens shook as the animated skyline was torn asunder, leaving only a pure white light indescribable by any Non Player Character, for they had no relevant dialogue option. And a Claw extended down in a sign of love and merry, and a voice spoke in a volume that no /yell could equal, and said:

    Spell Resist is no more.

And there was a great fervor in all of Azeroth, as the Tanks of their respective guilds ran to the streets, cheering in exaltation, dancing with no restraint for they now had onlt joy in their hearts.
And the Warriors and the Paladins and the Death Knights, supported by their guildmates, ran out in gladness across the land as if time were their greatest foe, and the maintenance were surely to set upon them at the earliest moment.
And they arrived at the borders of their enemies, and without need of declarations of goodwill, there they did meet with and embrace their counterparts. Where that was once PVP there was now only peace, for they knew that on this day, they were brothers all, and no words need be spoken to understand the wonders of the miracle bestowed upon them.
And the spell resist gear was gathered, and placed upon a monument, and the voices of all races cried, “Let us begin anew, and heal as one!” And there was a great and singular delight as the torchbearers stepped forward, and the gear was set aflame, and reduced on the platform and in the people’s memories to no more than shadows and dust…
…except for the fire resist gear, which refused to set alight.

And there was a great weeping, and gnashing of teeth.

And thus is the text written. Would that had Druid made mention herein, but the Claw forbade.

  15. Medros

….hasn’t everyone switched over to SWTOR by now?

    Swing And A Hit!

Hit and Expertise•We still think having stats that can be capped is a good game design. Rather than focusing solely on stacking your best stat, you have to decide how valuable it is to hit your target before you go back to stacking your best stat. However, we are making some changes.

•Hit and spell hit will no longer be separate stats. The hit stat negates melee miss and spell miss.

•Expertise will negate dodge and spell miss, then parry.

•Expertise will be listed as a percentage, just like hit, instead of having an intermediary stat.

•We are normalizing hit with expertise, so that 1% of each stat will require the same amount of rating.

•We are normalizing melee and spell hit, so that spell hit is equal to miss plus dodge.
•Against an equal level creature: 6% spell miss, 3% melee miss, 3% dodge, 3% parry (from the front only), 3% block (from the front only).

•Against a +1 level creature: 9% spell miss, 4.5% melee miss, 4.5% dodge, 4.5% parry (from the front only), 4.5% Block (from the front only).

•Against a +2 level creature: 12% spell miss, 6% melee miss, 6% dodge, 6% parry (from the front only), 6% Block (from the front only).

•Against a +3/boss level creature: 15% spell miss, 7.5% melee miss, 7.5% dodge, 7.5% parry (from the front only), 7.5% block (from the front only).

•Ranged attacks will be able to be dodged. Hunters will benefit from expertise and will have it on their gear, which will also allow hunters and Enhancement shaman to share gear more easily.

    @Medros: Blasphemer!

…actually, this is a “WoW Comic dedicated to the world inside the World of Warcraft MMO, created by Chris Hanel and Michael Owen.” So whatever ‘everyone’ happens to switch to, you can pretty much count on WoW to be represented here in the Daily Blink.

  18. Tailswish

“And there was a great fervor in all of Azeroth, as the Tanks of their respective guilds ran to the streets, cheering in exaltation, dancing with no restraint for they now had onlt joy in their hearts.
And the Warriors and the Paladins and the Death Knights…”

I love you guys and all you do, but come on…snubbing druids is not cool. Bears need love, too.

  19. Zophor

Yes, let us all switch over to a game that is basically WoW with lightsabers.

All the dailies, pve/pvp bugs, pvp imbalance and BG premades you could stomach. Just like Vanilla…oh wait.

  20. Stealthfire

WoW at launch didn’t have dailies. Or battlegrounds, period. And balance wasn’t just bad, it was laughable. Entire specs were entirely useless. I’m not saying SWTOR is perfect, or even that it’s where it needs to be as a 2012 MMO (at least in some areas) but it blows Vanilla out of the water.

  21. Michael

While that’s true, WoW didn’t have…well, WoW to learn from. It’s not really fair to compare vanilla to anything other than the opening runs of, say, DAOC, AO, and EQ. As much as i really enjoy SWTOR, there’s a seven and a half year running example in world of warcraft of things bioware and EA should’ve known to look out for, and that didn’t happen.

  22. Drogra

Or maybe they just had the horrible behemoth that is EA forcing them to release another unfinished Star Wars game…..

  23. Zophor

Vanilla WoW learned from itself. And it was not so much that specs were useless as that people just didn’t play them because there were classes that did it better.

People laughed at Paladin ret and prot…until a prot pally ran them through Strat/Scholo or ran into a ret pally with a Reaper or HoR.

    Same thing with druids.

My point is that while Aion (ugh) at least tried to be somewhat original Bioware just took WoW, slapped on some new paint, gave everything voice overs (which I disabled after the first 20mins) and removed what they saw people bitching about on the forums and called it a new game.

  24. Zophor

On topic though. I’m kinda saddened. Resist made the game interesting, as long as it wasn’t used as a crutch to make a boss last longer than it should’ve (like Mother).

Bosses where only a few classes needed resist (like Leotheras or High King) were ok imo. As my guild’s lock tank it was quite a rush tanking Leo back in SSC.

  25. Kane

Does this mean that Resistance Aura and Kings/Mark will change? I find that in PvP, throwing on that aura helps against a mage/spriest/warlock.

  26. Zedjag

Great toon. The style of writing suited the announcement perfectly.
“except for the fire resist gear, which refused to be set alight.” Made me explode with laughter. Now I have to clean keyboard and monitor :)

    more strength to your pens

  27. JesRaven

@Zophor: BioWare did nothing but play to their strengths. If you’ve played a BioWare RPG in the past five years, then you should have KNOWN what you were getting yourself into when you got TOR. The fact that people can still claim TOR is WoW with a Star Wars skin is laughable. It’s like comparing Asteroids to Space Invaders. “Look, there’s dots for stars! This is the same game with a new skin!”

  28. Decrona

Just wondering, does this mean everyone is just as vulnerable to spells as everyone else aside from racial resistances or whatever?
