Hey, everyone: A HUGE thank you to everyone that came out and saw the live broadcast of Legendary with yours truly sitting in with Gary, Mike B and Lore. Much analysis was made, many jokes were thrown about, tin foil hats were donned (or in my case, flame retardant goggles), and my “BUFF MAGES” sign made its standard cameo appearance. If you’re interested in checking out the episode, look no further — you can watch the whole episode right here!
For those of you that like your podcasts WoW-flavored, Mike and I will be appearing on TotalBiscuit’s podcast, Blue Plz!, today at 3PM Eastern. Tune in to hear us talk about the history of the strip, our thoughts on patch 4.1, looking ahead to 4.2, and run way over time because we were having too much fun recording the segment.
You can listen for the show at TotalBiscuit’s website, CynicalBrit.com. He’ll probably also be announcing the live stream going live on his twitter feed.
I can now see how easy it is for some websites to be lazy about creating a contest and saying, “If you want X, then simply hop on twitter and Retweet this message!” in order to milk a property of value for its social worth. While I’m not saying we’re “above” such things or unwilling to market ourselves, I am saying I find that specific avenue of promotion incredibly annoying and I wish that websites would be a bit more original about how they went about it.
We obviously can’t charge for our work, nor can we really crack the whip on turning our readers into our own personal street team, that’s something that tends to just happen on its own and can’t be faked. So we’ll just say this: If you dug this, share it as much or as little as you’d like. It helps us out if you do.
Here’s today’s strip in full resolution. Enjoy!
For those wanting something a bit higher resoultion, Here is a link to a much larger version of the poster.
I’m trying to be more pro-active about having these available, never be afraid to shout if you want a future strip in a larger format for printing or desktop wallpaper.
Head to your newsstand and pick up the new June 2011 issue of PC Gamer Magazine — our first Backspace article is now gracing its pages! I’m still trying to get a hold of a copy here, though I don’t need to be in that much of a rush (we wrote it; after all), but I need to get a couple so I can take one and frame it.
We’d like to thank the editors of PC Gamer for giving us the chance to really stretch our legs when we’d never done anything like this before. It’s a much deeper project producing a full magazine page instead of a single gag, and we’re having a lot of fun with it. I can also say that this should be a regular occurrence now, so this won’t be the last time we appear in print.
Mike has also pointed out that one of the first webcomics he ever read was PVP, which he discovered in the pages of PC Gamer magazine years ago. Having our own spot in the magazine to use as our sandbox has truly proven to bring him full circle in that regard.
